Embark on a vast new role-playing adventure as one of eight travelers, all with their own origins, paths, and goals. The producers of the Bravely series at Square Enix have brought a new world to life through a mix of CG, pixel art, and "HD-2D" visuals. Embark on a vast new role-playing adventure as one of eight travelers, all with their own origins, paths, and goals. Where to begin? Who to team up with? Where to go next? Only you can decide. Each traveler can use a distinct Path Action, a specialized way of achieving objectives and interacting with people you encounter. The warrior can "challenge" people to a duel, whereas the dancer can "allure" others to follow her, even into battle! Enjoy the freedom to choose your own path while experiencing the story through the role you play. Combat revolves around the Boost system, a fusion of traditional turn-based battling and modern enhancements. Each turn, build up BP that can be spent to dramatically increase your strength or provide aid. Identifying when to Boost may just be the key to victory.

After you're done playing, take a survey to let the development team know your thoughts. The roles you play, the places you go, and the people you join are up to you.
Nintendo revealed during its Direct event today that Square Enix is making an exclusive role-playing game for the Switch tentatively titled Project Octopath Traveler. It has you picking between eight different characters, each with their own stories and abilities. It is coming out in 2018.
A demo for the game is releasing for the Switch today. The game features 2D sprite-based characters with 3D backgrounds. It features turn-based, menu-based battles. Silicon Studio, which created Bravely Default and Bravely Second for the 3DS, is working on the game. The gorgeous-looking RPG features eight different playable characters, each with a distinct playstyle. The Direct showcased some of these, including Warrior and Dancer, while also highlighting some combat. Nintendo also teased that an extended trailer is on the way, which we'll add to this story once it's live. Visually, it looks great, using what the devs call "HD-2D" graphics. But you won't have to settle for watching it in a livestream. Nintendo revealed that a demo for the game arrives on the Eshop today, giving you the opportunity to get a feel for it yourself. The full game will have a simultaneous worldwide release date at some point in 2018. Gematsu reports that the publisher will stream a ‘Project Octopath Traveler First Impression’ session on Saturday 23rd September, live from Tokyo Game Show 2017. Let's wait for more info! You may remember hearing about Project Octopath Traveler, a Nintendo Switch exclusive role-playing game in development at Silicon Studio. First shown at the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 we haven’t heard any more about the project since then and, clearly aware of that fact, Square Enix has promised to share more information soon. Gematsu reports that the publisher will stream a ‘Project Octopath Traveler First Impression’ session on Saturday 23rd September, live from Tokyo Game Show 2017. That will see producers Tomoya Asano and Masashi Takahashi talk about the Nintendo Switch exclusive, ending seven months of silence. What little we know comes from the reveal trailer, in which a voice asks: “What does it mean to play a role? In a vast world of adventure. The places you go. The deeds you do. The heroes whose tales you bring to life. Every road is yours to take. Embark on an adventure, all your own.” Project Octopath Traveler will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide. Last week, during a presentation of a new gaming console Nintendo SWITCH has announced a new game in the genre of RPG from the creators of Bravely game series - Project Octopath Traveler. And while the game itself is little known, in addition to the first trailer, we got the first musical composition. This piece of music can be heard on the page dedicated to the game on Square Enix's website. Very beautiful music piece.
Nintendo announced a new Square Enix RPG for its forthcoming console, the Nintendo Switch. The game is Project Octopath Traveler. Watch the reveal trailer above.
Few details were released about the new Nintendo Switch title, though some early gameplay was teased during the console's live stream presentation. The Project Octopath Traveler world "boasts unique graphic style and sense of scale." Project: Octopath Traveler appears to combine traditional sprite-based artwork with three-dimensional backdrops and environments. The focus seems to be on an open-ended adventure where you decide what route to take, rather than the traditionally linear RPG experience. There's no release date yet for Project Octopath Traveler, though new details were promised in the "future." |
